Eastwest Studios

Profile:

Founded in 1957 by audio engineer Bill Putnam in what was previously Radio Center Theater and then Western Recorders at 6000 Sunset Boulevard. Putnam acquired the Western Recorders name and the studio, which became known as United Western Studios. In 1989, the studios were acquired by Allen Sides and renamed Ocean Way Recording. In 1999 Rick Adams purchased the studios and renamed it Cello Studios. In January 2006 it was acquired by New Zealander Doug Rogers, former owner of Harlequin Studios, and after two years of construction, it reopened as EastWest Studios.
