Playboy Records

Profile:

Playboy Records (part of Hugh Hefner's Playboy Enterprises) was a pop/country label that had its most successful period between 1972 and 1975 with artists like Barbi Benton, Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds, Ivory (11), and Mickey Gilley. Originally distributed independently, near the end of its existence it used CBS Records Distribution.

The label folded in 1978, only to be relaunched as the Playboy Jazz label, now part of Concord Music Group. The original label's back catalog is now managed by Sony Music's Legacy Recordings unit.
