Audio Doughnuts‘ humble beginnings saw its first night in East London on the 8th January 2011 built from passion, enthusiasm and very little money. This night was to cement the ethos of Audio Doughnuts; energetic drive, focused belief and the significance of passion for stand-out entertainment within an growingly saturated music scene.
Since these lowly beginnings, Audio Doughnuts quickly became to host some of the most exciting and eclectic night’s to be found in the nation’s capital. 2011 saw Audio Doughnuts reflecting the diversity of electronic music with line-ups decrying genre boundaries and assembled to entertain. This unrestricted, unblinkered passion led AD to become one of Mixmag’s favourite clubnights of 2011.
As the end of 2011 drew near and with almost a year of parties held and blood, sweat and tears shed, AD turned it’s head once more towards releasing music, hosting the two first offerings on the imprint; from London trip hop specialist Onoe Caponoe and 4-piece electronic band The Fives respectively, they have since gone onto original and remixed works from the likes of Tuesday Born, Benin City, Shox, LV, Two Inch Punch, Auntie Flo, Pusherman & Scratcha DVA to name just a few.
Forward to 2012 and AD progressed with their first summer hosting festival stages at Dimensions Festival, Croatia & Standon Callin Festival, UK amongst others – Celebrating their second anniversary in South London with a line up consisting of 50 of some of the world’s most key figures in dance & experimental electronic music including house-innovators MK, Marshall Jefferson & Roy Davis Jr.
Looking into 2013, proving to be AD’s strongest year yet, the independent label & night continue to push boundaries, launching their new artist agency ADA Agency, signing up to host stages at Dimensions Festival, Outlook Festival, Latitude Festival, LeeFest & Standon Calling Festival, organising a unique collaborative effort at Redbull Studios London with Zed Bias, Roy Davis Jr, Kele Le Roc, Chunky & Paleman and with some very exciting release plans in the pipeline Audio Doughnuts seems to be a brand that will maintain an evident passion towards progressive, electronic & forward thinking music.” - Mike Coleman (FACT Mag / Resident Advisor / XLR8R)
