The reason that most of these titles are 45rpm is mainly that the main label holders want to release all the high-selling records on 33rpm and make the most money. So, because they don't want to do 45rpm, they let certain companies get the masters to make a 45rpm for a very cheap price, and vice/versa what it would cost to do a 33rpm.
They don't want MOFI or AP - QPR to get the still high-selling rock or whatever other genre like that, unless they pay more to do a 33 and 1/3rpm.

The bottom line about the fact that most of their releases are 45 RPM is that the big labels keep the 33rpm and sell them for 25 bucks/pounds to make the most money.
The companies are thrilled to let great companies like AP sell 45RPM because it's a win-win for them.
So sadly they are more than happy to let these records come out on 45rpm, from the likes of Mofi and AP!

For me the very best Audiophile reissue label ever. Classic Records was a contender but of course are now defunct, and Mobile Fidelity whilst having some great titles have also had some strange releases (in terms of sound quality). I have over 500 AP
titles, virtually their whole catalogue and I cannot think of any title that didn't work or was a disappointment.

Anyone know how they source the masters for Impulse stuff? I.e. Serve you Right to Suffer and any of the Coltrane/Mingus/Rollins/etc stuff they have coming out soon on AS

I have many Analogue Productions records. They are a true audiophile label and many, if not most, of their reissues sound better than the original first pressings. All sourced from original analogue tapes, expertly mastered and pressed to the highest quality. High quality outer and inner sleeves finishes a phenomenal package. Don’t hesitate though... when they get close to being out of print, prices increase, and they can rocket when they are out of print.
