Miami Tape was founded in 1974. Their original address was located at 8180 NW 103rd st, Hialeah Gardens, Florida. They had a vinyl pressing plant by the name of Pro Sound inc. and a printing business by the name of Universal Litho inc,

Filed as a Domestic for Profit Corporation Tuesday, July 30, 1974, and sometimes appears as Miami Tape or Miami Tapes.

Miami Tape also had a special way to add the vinyl mastering dates in the runouts (e.g. D-S-ND). Because one of their clients didn't want the date to appear, Miami Tape made a up a special code, partially using Spanish numbers:

U = 1
D = 2
T = 3
K = 4
C = 5
S = 6
Z or 2 = 7
O = 8
N = 9
UX = 10
UU = 11
UD = 12
etc.

The pattern is usually: M-D-Y or M-DD-Y or MM-D-Y or MM-DD-Y or MM-DD-YY.

The system was given up after 1999.
