In their Club Classics series, Powerhouse was known for keeping it *very* simple. Almost all tracks were just simple re-edits, usually using looped beat sections from the same song tacked onto the start and end of the song in an attempt to make it more workable for mixing DJ's. Very little additional production was done, and sometimes the beat transients didn't always line up in the editing, making the tracks even tougher to mix than the originals!

Issues 7 and 8 were by far the best of the lot.

Some of the standouts:

Issue 1: Salt & Pepa "Push It" - a re-edit, but they based it on the very rare Noise Boyz Remix which already contained additional samples and production. To this day, the Noise Boyz Remix in its original form has only appeared on this super rare CD so getting the re-edit on the CD of this Powerhouse issue is the only other way to get it digital.

Issue 7: Diana Ross "Upside Down" - kind of a "deluxe" edit if you will, and IMHO the best remix service adaptation of this song. The break at the beginning and end was constructed using small rhythm-only snippets from various areas of the original song, mixed with a looping of the two beat "chica-chica" percussion from the song start. Flows very nicely with the rest of the mix and is a delight to beat-mix with.

Issue 8: Barry Manilow "Copacabana" is a nice, tight re-edit of the 1993 Remix.

Issue 8: Indeep "Last Night A DJ Saved My Life" an edit, but I can't figure out for the life of me what remix they used here to make it! It sounds like the original, but with a much thicker rhythm track. Soooooo good!!
