Scandinavian label and copyright holder active from 1990 to 2015. Not related to the label EVA created in 1981 and devoted to US and UK sixties rock bands : Eva (8)
EVA Records was a joint venture between Universal Music, Sony Music, EMI Music and Warner Music. EVA Records licensed music from all companies, major companies as well as independent labels. Originally a joint venture of EMI, Virgin and BMG Ariola, EVA was an acronym for EMI Virgin Ariola.
EVA Records released Absolute compilations from 1990 to 2015. The Absolute trademark was owned by EMI Music Sweden AB from 1991 to 2013 when they became part of Warner Music Sweden AB who is the current owner, and was licensed exclusively to EVA Records until 2015.
While EVA Records ceased to exist in 2015, that was the Swedish branch - in Denmark and Norway it ceased to exist many years before, in Denmark being replaced by NOW Music (Denmark). The Swedish label since 2000 is still active Absolute (2), with EVA Records as the copyright holder until 2015 when they were replaced by Warner Music Sweden AB.
It should be noted that while the Swedish and Norwegian releases used the same logo - first the main one seen here (the one that's not framed) and then the second (click "More Images") - the Danish releases used a variation of the second logo, shown here as image number three.
