Profile: | Anthology Recordings began as an all digital reissue label, its goal to provide an online outlet for rare and out-of-print music of all eras, genres and cultures. The Anthology Recordings website was officially launched on October 5th, 2006, but went off-line in 2011. The label was relaunched in 2014 as the reissue arm of Mexican Summer label group. With the launch of Anthology Editions in 2016 the Anthology team has also ventured into publishing books. |

recently purchased Catherine Ribeirot + Alpes - Ame Debout from this label. str8 out of the shrink it is by far the worst new release i've ever purchased. sounds more like VG than an unplayed record. disappointed. i expect this kind of shite from 4 Men w/ Beards. haha.

I've bought several records from Anthology Recordings and each pressing has significant flaws. My most recent purchase of The Nightcrawlers The Biophonic Boombox Recordings skips in two different places and has a lot of surface noise. Buyer beware!
I picked up one of the Pharoah Sanders reissues they did in 2017. It was junk. For one, it was off-center. For another, they didn't even bother to replicate the Impulse gatefold, putting it in an indifferent jacket. And it didn't particularly sound good to my ears. I emailed them about it being off-center but they gave the typical 'this is the first we've heard of this.' So now I avoid their product outright.
