200-odd Favorite Recordings

pedro99updated 12 days agoI can't compare Bruckner, PJ Harvey, Elizabeth Cotten, and the Dave King Trucking Company, except by reducing my criterion to mere pleasure. I'm not Robert Christgau, so rather than make these disparate artists compete along the lowest common axis, this just gathers some recordings I really like for different reasons.
(That said, there are a couple of head-spinners here. As a general rule: the grungy punk stuff and jazz fusion I liked when I was sixteen or seventeen, and have mostly stopped listening to; the folk and blues I took up at college and have been listening to since; the singer-songwriter stuff, the early rock-and-roll, the country music, and the choral and classical records are more recent.)
