Arabic Releases - Pass
updated 5 days ago
It's not uncommon to purchase genuine releases from the Middle East only to find that something is off with the audio. Most commonly, finding that your disc was presumably pressed from an MP3 copy of the audio. I say "presumably" because it's not entirely impossible to master a CD with a 20 kHz brick wall filter. A 16 kHz low-pass on the other hand is almost a guarantee that someone screwed up.
I basically place releases on the "pass" list when they've either got spectral data all the way up to 22.05 kHz, or they are free of audible artifacts that are present in other releases. This is in no way meant to be a review on the audio quality of the master - although I may include that in the comments. The loudness wars made it to Arabic releases some time around the early to mid 2000s, at which point dynamic range became a wayward historical artifact.
Take everything here with a grain of salt and check the individual comments on each item. Seeing one version of a release here does not automatically mean other versions "Fail" unless I've put them on that list. My collection is small and these lists are not meant to be all inclusive.
