1987–1993: CAPITOL JAX or JAX or CD JAX
1993–2004: EMI JAX
It is unclear when MASTERED BY EMI MFG. started appearing.
When entering the matrix, watch out for the faint middle dot that often appears after the main number (circa 1995 onward).
It is not necessary to say that the #-1-# code and CAPITOL JAX / EMI JAX are "mirrored" (meant to be read from the top side of the disc), hence it is not always indicated.
• Mastering date code on the 1989–1994 pressings: L or S (maybe LBR ID), then last digit of year (9, 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4), then a character for the month (0 to 9, A, B C) and 2-digit day (01 to 31), and then another letter (A thru P?).
• CPCD ##### and CPCP ##### appear to be sequential project numbers used from 1990 to 1992. The CPCD series is separate from the CPCP series though.
Several other formats yet to be decoded...see below!
