Ahhh... The sounds of impeding Doom(!) ...Biting the fingernails, or afraid of the thought of sweaty palms?! Sounds like a panic attack, right? No, not to worry. Whatever you want to call it; melancholy metal, drone monotony, [Black] Sabbath-like bleakness or down at the bayou sludge, it is a genre of its own with a neat and long articulated history. Added some of my own person favorites, with more to come soon (no doubt). Am not exactly a Doom Metal expert, though have heard a lot of good records over the years. Some of these recordings are mixed with other styles that fit in a certain sub-genre and some that defy categorization. Hoping someone has similar favorites out there. Thanks for checking this out!

  1. Acid Bath - Paegan Terrorism Tactics

What an amazing band! Sadly, this was their last studio album release. Be sure to check out other projects singer Dax Riggs has been involved in since this act's unfortunate end. Amazing singer and songwriter with always something to say.

  2. Pagan Altar - Volume 1

Cd reissue of the band's 1982 demo. Issued in 1998.
