Hot Metal Guide to 50 Essential Metal Albums

In early 1991, Australian heavy metal magazine Hot Metal released a guide to "50 Essential Metal Albums". (This was in association with a now defunct chain of music stores, who claimed all albums would be available in their stores). Presented in (almost) alphabetical order, like the original.

Released at a time when glam was starting to die and grunge was just about to break, and encompassing the broad spectrum of from hard rock to black metal (as was the style of the magazine), it actually manages to stand the test of time quite well (or probably 80%; there's a few choices in there that really haven't stood the test of time)
