House: Early Garage House 1984 - 1991

Garage House is the progression of Garage Disco and a New York centered sub-genre. Cross influence of Chicago House sometimes confuses people and mistakenly label Deep House as Garage tracks. The New York tradition contains: Club style, Latin aspects (Note Freestyle House is the pronounced exponent of that), Gospel elements, Soulfulness.

Garage House (1984 -1991) before the Clives & Cole Hits. No offence as I love those also, but it separates the "Early" from the "Classic" period. By 1990-1991 it depends whether the track relates more to "Early" or the more modern "Classic" Garage House. Uptempo and more club oriented Garage House after 1990 to me is Club Garage House.

Garage House is NO DEEP HOUSE. It sounds similar to a novice listener.
Garage House: Early Garage House, Classic Garage House, Club Garage House.

I am a generalist not a specialist. I make these lists to breakdown my collection and wantlist into (sub)genres. I constantly try to improve my lists so they are never complete. I am happy to incorporate suggestions, but please raise the bar.
