This list includes includes only modern Psy-Trance styles: Progressive, Full On and Twilight.
Goa and Psy-Techno releases are covered with Goa Trance Classics and Psychedelic Techno Classics lists.
Progressive - With decline of Goa Trance in 1998, group of well established artists switched to more minimalistic sound and somewhat slower tempo that will eventually become Progressive Psy-Trance. Guys from Flying Rhino Records coined first shapes of this style, and Ace Ventura's first album from 2007 became prototype for majority of artists. Majority of releases today unfortunately follow the same pattern with small percentage of quality music.
Full On - Around 1998, a new Psy-Trance style later named Full On emerged. GMS is usually considered as group that coined the new style. Very soon many other well established artists followed them along with new coming artists. In 2000, after just two years of its existence, it became the mainstream Psy-Trance style. However, while at least 80% of Goa Trance releases are pretty decent, I can say the same for only 5% of Full On. Everything else is just a boring, repetitive and very often commercial stuff with 1 or 2 good tracks per release. However, having in mind that huge amount of Full On is released every year, lot of good music have been released within this style.
Twilight - This style can be described as faster and aggressive Full On. The term "Twilight" was still not coined in 2002, but this is the year when artists from South Africa such as Artifakt and Shift (2) released their music which can be considered as Twilight today. I personally don't like most of stuff released before 2006, but since then some really decent releases came out.
- Vinyls and compilations of tracks that were previously released (except on vinyls) are not included.
- List is sorted by artist/group name and release date.
