Rarest Jack White Releases

Jack White gets vinyl. Time and time again he releases super limited presses out of his Third Man Records label. Most of these you either need to get real lucky or be in the know to snag. A collector's gold-mine, enjoy this selection of Jack White's rarest records, as determined by their highest sale price on the Discogs Marketplace. Though these don't match with Ben Blackwell's picks they are a representation based on Discogs' data.

  1. The Dead Weather - Hang You From The Heavens

    1 For Sale from $5,000.00

    Median Sale Price: $2,500

    The Dead Weather hand painted each of the 150 7" records that also included a different photo booth strip of the band members. All the designs are unique, and the records were also shot by the different band members. These records were handed out at an invitation-only party at Third Man Records.

    2001 Tour Edition. 500 copies only were pressed on red vinyl, these were sold at shows.

  3. Beyoncé - How To Make Lemonade

    It's a stretch...but Jack White produced, wrote, and was featured on Don't Hurt Yourself. These were numbered collectors editions that came with a 600+ page hardcover book.

  4. Jack White (2) - Freedom At 21

    A single-sided limited edition of 1,000. These were attached to helium balloons and released from Nashville.

  6. The White Stripes - Icky Thump

    Comes in a gatefold sleeve with different artwork than the standard commercial release. Pressed on 180 gram vinyl. First release from Third Man Records's Vault mail order service for their quarterly platinum membership. Record sides are labeled Uno, Dwa, Three, and Fower.

  8. Various - Music From Baz Luhrmann's Film The Great Gatsby

    Housed in a laser-cut wooden jacket with aluminum spines. Includes 3 inserts, an owner instruction card, and a pair of cotton gloves to handle the vinyl. According to Third Man Records, these are the first ever commercially available gold and platinum metallic LPs.

  9. The White Stripes - White Blood Cells

    On December 14th, 2010, Third Man Records Nashville had 250 copies of this record pressed on red/white split color vinyl. 100 copies sold in Memphis and another 100 were randomly inserted to online orders. Note to self: move to Nashville or start ordering his records online.

  10. The White Stripes - De Stijl

    Of the remaster of 'De Stijl', 450 were made in a split color red/white vinyl. 250 of these were sold at Third Man Records in Nashville, 100 of them were given at random mail orders, and another 100 were sold at 'Da Capo' record store in Utrecht, The Netherlands.

    The 100 records sold in Utrecht contained an extra Rietveld goodie bag.

  11. The Upholsterers - Makers Of High Grade Suites

    Recorded around the turn of the century at Third Man Studio, SW Detroit. Mixed at Ghetto Recorders. An odd number - 367 copies of this version were released.

  12. The Dead Weather - Sea Of Cowards

    Tracks A1-A5 and B1-B6 are listed continuously from 1 to 11. Tracks A6 and B7 are untitled, hidden tracks printed on the A and B-side labels, respectively. Housed in a laminated gatefold sleeve with a 4-page lyrics sheet. Limited edition of 300.

  15. The White Stripes - Lafayette Blues / Sugar Never Tasted So Good

    1000 copies pressed. Both tracks are labeled "B" on the sleeve and center labels. Recorded on Ferndale St. one block from Lafayette St. "Sugar Never Tasted So Good" recorded to one track with one microphone. Includes two photocopied inserts concerning the Marquis de Lafayette.

  16. The White Stripes - Elephant

    Black Vinyl Promo Only release. 2LP set in red non-gatefold sleeve with "elephant" on front and "the white stripes" on the back. No other print on cover. Only 500 pressed and sent to journalists only...18 of which have since been sold on Discogs.
