In rough order. Depends on which one I am listening to...

  1. Black Dog Productions - Bytes

Overall Black Dog are my favourite producers of all time. This one will always remain a timeless masterpiece. Majestic melodies and visionary innovation.

  2. Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works 85-92

This album is pure soul music to me. Warm, enveloping, bassy. Head and sholders above most of his other releases.

  3. Move D - Kunststoff

In his long and prolific career David Moufang has released some incredible music. This one features some many ideas, full of depth and emotion and has not dated one bit.

  4. Cabaret Voltaire - The Conversation

Other albums by The Cabs may get the plaudits but this one is the one you need to own. CD1 is thrilling journey. Sometimes dark, sometimes strangely uplifting sometimes funky, always unique. CD2 is an extended ambient trip for late night listening.

  5. Autechre - Tri Repetae

The ultimate sonic innovators. They invented their own sound which imitators have never bettered. Here they hit the perfect balance between melody and experimentation.

  6. Gas - Nah Und Fern

Another totally unique project of 4 timeless albums finally released as one package. Music from deep inside a forest somewhere in Germany!

  7. Underworld - Dubnobasswithmyheadman

A true classic from another band who have forged a unique sound. Dark & Long is one of the most atmospheric tracks ever made.

  8. Roni Size / Reprazent - New Forms

The album that made people take Drum n Bass seriously. Every track tells an amazing new story. One of the few truely deserving Mercury Music Prize winners.

  9. Biosphere - Substrata

Perhaps the best ambient album ever. Imaging yourself holed some in a long cabin north of the artic circle. Light a fire and drift into the night...

  10. Alva Noto - Xerrox Vol.2

This is strange music. Strange and wonderful. A lesson in how to acheive a great deal with very little.

  11. Moodymann - Black Mahogani

House music which reaches the hights of anything on Motown. A towering acheivement in black music.

  12. Drexciya - The Quest

2 CDs containing the finest electro ever produced. This shit IS Detroit.

  13. DeepChord Presents Echospace - Liumin

Taking the Dub Techno sound to a new place. Druggy, late night futurism for your mind.

  14. Arctic Hospital - Citystream

This is the best set of dancefloor Techno I have ever heard. Forget the usual suspects pick this up for an unforgettable ride into the future.

  15. Move D / Namlook - Move D • Namlook XVIII: Sexoid

Maybe the best of an amazing series. Ambient and Tech-House fused into something truly different. RIP Pete Namlook.

  16. Robert Hood - Nighttime World Volume 2

One of Techno's best producers reached out into his Jazz roots and delivered with this ambitious, perfectly realised masterpiece.

  17. The Future Sound Of London - From The Archives Vol. 5

I could easily have picked Lifeforms but when you consider that this is the fifth releases from their musical archives the standard is staggering. More ideas on one album than most artists have in their whole careers!

  18. Luke Slater's 7th Plain* - The 4 Cornered Room

Slater took on the best of Detroit and won with this classic. This stuff never dates.

  19. Demdike Stare - Tryptych

A stunning odyssey into another realm. Music for the night.

  20. Locust - Weathered Well

A mysterious, sometimes melancholy masterpiece of 90s electronica.
