Mixmaster Morris & Jonah Sharp – Quiet Logic

Even though the sleeve says Waraitake lasts 17:54 minutes, it's really only nearly 13:30. Curiosity compelled comparison with a p2p download of the 1998 version. This revealed the 1998 version has a longer middle with more pronounced beats and an excursion into squiggles at 3/4 of the track, before coming down in a way similar to our 2024 version. Whether it is an edit or a different version altogether is hard for me to say. Perhaps our guys at We release however the fuck we want can clarify this.

low cutting levels, but the plating and pressing is very clean - you'll get satisfactory s/n, but you have to be very,very careful with records like these.

one thing though is the ridiculously tight shrink - the outer jacket got chewn and both discs are permanently warped - in my case the A and C sides are "centre up" and B / D are edges up - playable in home conditions, but forget cueing the B / D sides.

Perfection—glittery, shimmeringly gorgeous ambient techno that glides along seamlessly with help from a robust bottom end. The mastering is superb, quiet (no pun intended) vinyl with crisp highs and thick, fully-represented bass. Grab it while you can!

Wonderful music and the recent vinyl reissue is fantastic. Anything produced by Hosono usually sounds incredible and this release is no exception. Highly recommended.

Haven't heard this but am a big fan of Haroumi Hosono and I just happened to be listening to an episode of Bandcamp Radio featuring Mixmaster Morris and he mentions an ambient album he made with Hosono (presumably this one) and that it'll probably be getting reissued soon... So, there is hope!

I have to agree with bellow comments, this album could do a vinyl reissue. Its a wonderful listening experience from star to finish in the realms of ambient music with two of the greatest ambient producers of all time. I wonder how many great ambient albuns from the 90's are out there, released in CD only. Hopefully with the increase interest in all sorts of ambient and chilled out electronic music, we might see some reissues surfacing in the near future.

Yeah, this could do with a vinyl re-issue. This is a very satisfying listen, the last track being the stand out!
