Essential album, one of the best in their catalogue. I suspect other reviewers took VCA clicks and synth noise for vinyl sourcing :) This does not look the case to me - the quality of remasters is acceptable, provided the originals were not recorded the best way (Zuckerzeit was recorded much better in 1974). Lullabies on a raw synth sound, sunny riviera on Mars, hanging out with robots. Fantastic feelings.

The Bureau B CD version is sourced from vinyl, and has vinyl crackling and popping sounds all over it. Great job Bureau B! Just what I want to hear on a CD! It is especially noticeable/annoying on the last track, Ufer. If I wanted to hear the popping and clicking of vinyl, I would buy a vinyl record, not a CD! Why in the world was this sourced from vinyl? This is a complete joke! "Remastered" by Willem Makkee? Did anyone actually listen to it before they released it? Do they think people are ok with vinyl popping sounds on a CD? Complete incompetence!

I have a NM Pallas produced test pressing of this edition of the Curiosum LP. I've never seen another, nor seen assessments of its value.

Does anyone have an idea of its potential value?

          Thanks!

All I need to say is, that the vinyl reissue from 2009 is a soundwise a very poor quality. You'd better try to get one of the original older releases.

This Cluster album o free electronic divertissment can be put near George Harrison "Electronic Sound" for its loss of pre-intentional focal point. This not meaning that music is senseless but cohesion is achieved with ultimate harmony instead of a programatic sequence of melodies.
I've always tried to found out all the naive electronic music among all artists, sounds that can be so widely silly at first for their lack of any form and purpose but then eventually it can convey to the listener a particular physical feeling of retained awakened memory and is capable of putting the ear-sense out of its common place for a sudden ascension to the pre-historic directional hearing sense of the infants, who firstly takes the noises around as totally new signals in scanning their occuping space for datas.
Here in "Curiosum" the title suggest not for a case that particular sense mentioned above, wich led that pre-formed hearing sense to be aware of all the continuos flowing of incoming perceptions in order to map the living space or the ventual "mind-space" wich is inside the brain and is supported by the human senses.
The tracks are calibrated for a step after step building of additional soundings to give a particular sensation of wideness and openess into a landscape made of warm synthetizer layers and sudden buzzing and bleeps, wich quietly takes their color in the listeners mind, always more attracted by a kaleidoscopic dropping of repetitive samples and modulated shapes.

Wonderful listening experiences for both pregnant mother and fetus in utero to achieve with a massive use of large quality headphones.
If these inputs may lack, listener can follow the suggestion to not use any induments during the listening pleasure.

I've just listened again this record I bought about 20 years ago, surprisingly, those tracks that were interesting at the time are less interesting now and those I ignored, all of a sudden, shake my ears and sound sort of close to Plastikman on his Consumed album.

Now I understand why this album hooked me, it was too far for my understanding and this has always been a good reason to buy a record at any time of my life.

Do yourself a favour, ignore all critics who say this album was crap and listen to it with your 2000+ ears
