Keane – Hopes And Fears

I Hoped yet Feared for this pressing. Knowing MPO pressed it i feared for non fills bit i hoped i wouldnt get any and praise be my copy is ok. Minus some mild warping that is. Give a clean it plays well and sounds fair. A 2LP 45rpm would sound alot better still though. This will show up a low end bonded elliptical mm so i recommend a shibata/ML tip on an mm at least to get this playing nicely enough

I was a little concerned that, after going by some of the reviews this was going to be terrible.

It's not - it sounds good, nice clear bass.. dynamics on the whole are good - as good as a CD I would say.

My only complaint, that if you have the volume jacked up there is surface noise between the tracks, sometimes audible within tracks (quiet bits etc),

And it looks great too, I'm glad I bought it, but don't pay over the odds for it.

Sounds good to me. Quiet, flat heavyweight disc. Love the color, looks like candy.

My copy has Keane misspelt as "Kean" twice in the credits on the inner sleeve.

I've listened to these songs for 18 years, and they took on new life in this format. A beautiful pressing.

This is the one I bought in 2004, great album. I love Keane. The 2004 CD has the same track listing but then the brown cover CD came with rearranged track order minus one! Silly really.

There's no way the ridges should be a factor to decide wether a new entry should be added to the database or not, if it's the same stamper used and released the same year why should it have a separate entry? since when are different batches of the same issue added separately? doesn't make any sense to me.

Sounds fine. I didn’t really pick up on any noise or defect. Sonics are ok. Not a much different experience than the CD.

Absolutely wonderful vinyl, sounds perfect with no noticeable quality issues!

My copy had some very light crackling/surface noise, but a quick clean made it much better
