Thievery Corporation – The Mirror Conspiracy

This album blew me away in terms of sound quality. Seems like highs, mids, and lows were tuned perfectly. Nice white vinyl makes it pop on the turntable

Background noise could be lower but still very great sound of this press (clear, punchy, separated).

Disc 1, solid white, no traces of other colors. Disc 2, red and blue waves faintly running throughout, yielding a more eggshell/bone color instead of stark white.

That said, dynamic, beautiful pressing. Quiet, great bass...easy to listen to repeatedly. Well worth the buy!

Excellent electronic chill music with elements of world music, whether it be Indian music or so. This album's a classic! A+

I just purchased what appears to be a newer version (2024)of this release that is black vinyl. The sticker on the wrapper says 25th anniversary remaster (even though the album was released in 2000. The vinyl is black however the matrix runouts match this 2022 releases listing the record label as “Primary Wave”. The packaging though matches the 2014 release as far as barcode and the label corresponding to 18th St. Lounge with a 2014 copyright.
Regardless it sounds fantastic.

This sounds stunning, way better than the original CD and streaming is hilariously poor. The clarity and depth of the bass needs to be heard to be believed

Anyone else have issues with scraping noise in between songs? I’m wondering if it was pressed off center or something?

More a marketing operation than an album, a carefully measured production where the bassline stays behind, the drums are very gentle, the rhodes don't vary too much not to scare people, where musically things go to a couple of places. It was a blasting success (it was very marketable, with the cover already selling elegance and wine, but I regretted buying this one so much: it is the blandest evolution of the dubby trip hop of the 90s to the dead end that was the "jazzy" downtempo in the early 00s. Only "Tomorrow" shows some hints of going somewhere interesting in both its dubby beginning and Megashira-ish drum n bass ending, but it ends early so it does not scare anyone.

This is undoubtedly one of the finest downtempo albums from that era. Echoing the sentiments of many others, it sounds incredible – everything that needs to be said about it has already been expressed in these comments.

Cleaned properly from debris. The inner paper is poor quality. Low amount of noise. Sound is top. Very punchy. Very nice bass.
