dj shadow is best known for his sample based music, "entroducing" was a milestone and a classic by now.
josh has developed his style to more electronic music with modular synths, which some of his old fans don't like a lot, it is rhe same with amon tobin.
for me "the mountain will fall" is a real masterpiece and the shadow album i listened to the most, it grows and grows, here is so much to discover!
i saw josh 2 times live, one concert was on the mountain tour, which was amazing and mindblowing, this year he will come again to berlin, i look forward to it.

Great sound and low surface noise. Top notch packaging. Music wise it´s his best album in years.

This is one brilliant album. I read a few reviews, they did little to express who big this album sounds, the bass is subsonic. I just wish he had helped out with Run the Jewels vinyl production, which is bloody terrible on RTJ2 and 3.

Pressing sounds great! Packaging is top notch and feels like the price I paid. My personal favorite DJ Shadow album, it has an irresistible mix of atmospheric tracks (The Mountain Will Fall, Ashes to Oceans) his signature 'beats' (Three Ralphs, Calafornia) and vocal tracks (Pitter Patter, Nobody Speak, The Sideshow) Only Issue I have is the fake record static on "The Sideshow" it works okay in digital form but playing from an actual record it sounds awful. At first "Calafornia" didn't really hook me, but after hearing it on vinyl the perfectly eq'd bass blew me away, sounds incredible.

One of the best releases of 2016 as far as electronic music goes. Cant understand the low ratings. Well done mr. Shadow.

Music aside (which is pretty dope) this is seriously good clean loud pressing and the mixing & mastering is spot on with a heap of tight & focused sub bass going on.
Also glad that its not an album full of guest vocalists.

The album is dope. It jumps around themes, but that also symbolizes this period in music after all. And the pressing is good, well very good, I just put on the Shure M44G's on my HipHop vinyls and get as close as I can to the setup that artists actually use for sampling here (well my opinion). And just enjoy it. Only thing I don't like about the release - the inner sleeves are a bit too tight for the hard paper used against the sharp edges of the vinyl - will break in the middle of the folds fast if good care not taken. But the tracks, well, going to wait for the next one to come out and get that too. So it continues.

Much better work than I had anticipated. His late 90s early 2000s era stands at the top for me, so I was pleasantly surprised with this late career release. This pressing is only OK, some crackling that just won't go away even after RCM cycle, but Rainbo product is always a crap shoot you knew that.

Lastly, stay away from fat_beats seller here, who's listed as 1 of the many sellers for this entry. FatBeats the label: their product is totally cool, got no complaints about the label, they obviously are intense about the music n artists that they have released over the many years. I'm talking bout their point guy for selling on discogs - Mohammed, I think? I dunno know about how their customer service via their own website, fatbeats.com, I can only talk bout them as a discogs seller. Whadda an unbelievable character, the guy's got a serious attitude problem, my buddy tried to enter a simple transaction with him a few yrs ago, and Mohammed was an angry loony to him. Again, plenty of sellers to choose for this release, no need to patronize fat_beats here.

Funky base album. Fresh, solid. Pressing is good too. Shadow good comeback. I don't know why this album low marked by critics reviews.
