- Also just confirming that good copies are out there. Mine is flat, centred, no skips and maybe 2 or 3 slight pops on the whole record. Sounds good too.

Utterly bizarre tracklisting, seemingly programmed completely at random. All of the bonus tracks could have fitted on the second disc. Only two b-sides are included (Black Garden & No-One Knows), and those were originally mixed into the album on the original Japan release. Why are they on disc 2 now?
Live tracks, acoustic versions and remixes programmed here with no logical thought or structure. Would you ever listen to this release?
What an absolute mess.referencing Everything Must Go (LP, Album) 483930 1
Can someone please let me know why this record is worth so much? Recently been given this vinyl for free by a friend and just stumbled on the value of it.- Just bought a copy from eBay and wish I’d read these reviews first! Awful pressing…. Side A atrocious including skip to ADFL…
- Sounds great overall, punchy and quite dynamic. A bit of soft sibilance on the vocals towards the end of both sides, and also B1, but not the worst I've heard, I wouldn't say it ruins the sound or anything.

I've owned this since new. Rarely listen to it because its so awful (the pressing, not the album) - but had another spin last night, listening on an all-tube set up, just to see.
Unlistenable! Brickwalled, strident, brittle, awful.
I don't know, of course, but I assume in part the problem begins with the multi-tracks and/or 2 channel master that was given to Chris Blair (RIP) to cut. Someone who has compared this original with a reissue (I haven't) might be able to advise whether a source is available that allows for improved mastering?
I'm not a fan of the whole Manics catalogue, but what I have heard does seem to suggest their releases (great music) haven't exactly been sonic masterpieces. I have an original 'Gold Against The Soul' - and the reissue - and both are substantially more listenable, as a recording/mastering, than 'Everything Must Go'. But then, it wasn't released directly into the middle of the loudness wars.
The 2LP 'This Is My Truth' reissue (which I know many wax lyrical about) sounds flat, soulless, and lifeless to me.
The Kevin Gray mastered reissue of 'Generation Terrorists' on Drastic Plastic sounds great; and - this surprised me - the recent remix/reissue 'Know Your Enemy' also sounds great.
- listening to this as a depressed teen, it does make me feel depressed still. but, it is still a very good album. which i sometimes call their first album, which is obviously incorrect
- well I guess I am the only one here who has a decent copy of this one, for me it sounds nice, no pops or clicks or noise and I love the marbled color of the vinyl.
