Reviews
- Edited 8 years agoAnother EP that needs a review. I got this on pre order, and wow. What a track. Violent Rain is one of those tracks that you listen to and then think - Huh. Is that it? But a few hours later I found myself humming it. Now a few weeks later and the track is completely under my skin. One of my favourite tracks this year. With the cover and the rain on the intro, it's almost got a 'Blade Runner' feel to it. Dillinja sampled the film on the Angels Fell, but this whole track has just got that futuristic, almost hopeless feel to it. The bassline with some nice distortion effects really counterpoint the keyboards. It's seriously well done. Immaculately so. In Pursuit and Sierra Mist are two more exquisitely produced tracks. In Pursuit is darker but more layered, compared to Sierra Mist which has some nice vocals and is probably the most accessible track on the EP. All in all, a seriously good EP. Goldie's right hand man delivers a release that's right up there with the best releases on the label. I bet I am not the only person who highly rates Violent Rain. Time will tell, but it's one of those kind of tunes that when you get it, you get it.
