Pink Floyd – A Momentary Lapse Of Reason

i have an italian first pressing and when I first listened to both records start to finish I immediately realized how the original mix and this one are totally night and day! the OG mix is more bright and open, with the voice that's so much in your face and on a whole different layer than the instruments, definitely a choice of mixing of that time to make the songs more enjoyable for those who listened to AM Radios.
This remix on the other hand is compressed as hell with lots of bass and zero 3D separation, I really can't choose a favourite because I find both too exaggerated in their own ways.

The pressing by the way is great but i found some loud pops during One Slip and in general it's not the quietest record i ever heard.

Uhm ... Mixed feelings about this version ... Some tracks seem better than the original (On The Turning Away, Sorrow), other worse (Learning To Fly, A New Machine). The bass are also a little shy for my tastes.

Excelente pressing!!! All arround, a must have, even if the álbum was recorded in digital, and the drums/bass in analogue whit Dolby S R noice reduction, is an inpressive sound, and is a fine álbum. Get it in good price

My version says PAL 40599-1B G2 DMM PRECISION L5/ PBL 40599 - SCRACH 1D G3 PRECISIONJ DMM A17. Sound quality is Sharp and digital like. Not good

Just bought this release and my pressing is also clean and without any noises, pops etc.
Sonically this is great stuff but I didn't have any noticable Wow effect in comparsion to the hi-res digital release, which is probably a no brainer as this is digitally sourced in the first place.
Still, great sound, excellent scene, bass, great level of details on effects such as a helicopter on Learning to Fly.
Imo, this version is Way better than the "remixed and updated" one, which I have found to sound very disappointing

My copy presents the "DMM" mark within deadwax space. I had to clean this copy (many times- Ultrasonic technologie) before appreciating this Pressing.

I have the original 1987 US pressing but haven't compared the two since this is a remix and updated version. My copy was played once before I bought it, so on my 'first' play through I noticed the bass is too heavy in the mix and gets bloated on some tracks. With that heavy bass, the upper mids were buried and overall sound seemed rolled off in the highs. I've noticed on 'new' vinyl, at least on my turntable, that the sound quality improves with a second and third play through. So I played it through all the way again, and this time cut the bass on my sub by 4db, and Wow, now we're back! Much better balance, immersive sound, and dialed in the way it should sound. Now I'm pleased and delighted with this, a great addition to my PF catalog.

After avoiding buying this version for years, because of the many bad reviews, I finally bought it. My pressing is clean and good sounding. No noise or so.
