This 12'' is absolutely insane - a prime example of the golden age of techno. It deserves a remaster and a high-res digital release.

Fire (Rewired Mix): I played it as my last track before Derrick May at Nation, Liverpool. I showed him and said 'one off your label', he just grunted. Then when it dropped and everyone was going nuts, he was in my ear saying 'Ahead of it's time, man'. One of the best by Stacey.

Meditive Fusion is one of those tracks that makes years of visiting countless record shops worth while. In my opinion probably Kenny Larkin's best techno effort ever. Detroit techno the way it was meant to be. Fire is a different track. I guess you have to have heard it being played at a proper rave, at proper levels, at the right time. It might seem boring/repetitive (welcome to house music), but it works, pretty damn well. Still, Meditive Fusion, masterpiece!

The Kenny Larkin Remix of Meditive Fusion is the track here for me, the programming is exceptional and has a built in soul that is impossible to imitate, There seems to be so much going on, but without the track sounding cluttered. The two different riffs , chopping and changing through the track, sound on first listen, familiar, which makes for an almost instant likeing of it. This is the true essence of detroit techno summed up in this track.
