The White Stripes – Get Behind Me Satan

Just have to mention that for a promotional run of 300 copies, there are 434 owners. Hmmm.........

Purchased and listened to FOUR copies of this and every single one was plagued by stitching, scuffs, scratches, dimples and warps. A couple of the discs even had filthy fingerprints all over them. Very unfortunate because under the god awful pressing quality there is a wonderful sounding cut of this album. Be warned.

EuripidesA - below - is right, it sounds shocking. My copy did, however, sound 90% better after a couple of wet cleans and play through's. Obviously not ideal.

This is the worst pressing in my collection. It makes me wanna sell everything and stream. Ffs, just test one copy in the run before you put it on sale.

Overall, good music, but bad quality. A single skip at the beginning (as of June 2024 now is gone) and some surface noise (the latter being a little more than expected). These records are dust magnets more than any other records I’ve had straight from the sleeve. Two loud pops during an instrumental break in The Nurse but not much else to is overly distracting.

Oh and on record two, the labels were swapped so that’s not great, though adaptable. Also, the changing of some track placements kinda bugs me but might had to have been done for the context of “quality”.

But yeah this is my favorite White Stripes album.

I'm not a fan of this band, but I liked this album with its garage performance. The album is on two vinyl discs. The disks are flat with a slight center offset. The mass is quiet, clicks are rare. Priority in sound to low frequencies. The stage is wide, the balance is even. The envelope (sleeve) is very dense, the colors are bright, but the picture itself is blurred. The inner envelopes are made of thick paper, black with a cutout for an apple, without an antistatic liner. In general, the cover, discs and content are good: 4 out of 5.

It was never a great album anyway but it sounds really poor on this pressing. It’s muddy, really lacks a low end and any bite. They couldn’t have done much more to make it sound so bad.

I think it sounds great. No complaints. My only issue is the jacket is too small for the records. A lot of these new tip on jackets seem to be too small. I'm just putting the two records in their sleeves in the middle of the gatefold.

Bought 3 different copies. All had non-fill track C3. Two from local record store, and one from Amazon. Very poor QC. Sad to say for a guy who owns his own record plant. Although not pressed there as far as I know.
