Notes

"The Dark Side Of The Moon" is the eighth studio LP to be released by Pink Floyd. It was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London, England and released in 1973. It stands as one of the most successful commercial recordings of all time, and has been released in many countries. In the U.S., the album has spent more time on the Billboard 200 album chart than any other release in modern history.

Early releases included two posters and two color stickers inside the gatefold sleeve, all designed by the U.K. graphics and design company Hipgnosis.

The most sought-after and valuable version of DSOTM is the original U.K. Harvest issue, identifiable with a solid blue triangle on the labels instead of the shaded triangle used on most other versions.

On September 11, 2020 the MR first reached the threshold of 1000 different versions and is currently hovering around that number, making it one of the most populated MRs in the entire database. Most of the vinyl versions were issued with gatefold sleeves. However there are a number of versions with significant differences in packaging and design, such as this version: Pink Floyd - The Dark Side Of The Moon from the Philippines which has the artist's name and LP title printed in large text on a non-gatefold sleeve. New and previously undocumented versions of DSOTM get added to the database frequently making it one of the most interesting titles to focus on for "deep collectors" .

I got this today. Full set, NM. Beautiful sound, clear record, big bass, very nice highs, without any pops, crisps etc. I am happy to own it in my collection, absolute recommended version for a very good price, i think. HARRY did a well done job in 1977, salute.

Cracking value. An amazing set for the amount of memorabilia. As to the CD, the sound is sublime.
Best 50th Anniversary option yet...wish Analogue Productions could be let loose on a vinyl version.

Just got a NM copy and it absolutely blows away my 79 MoFi, 75 Wally US, and for sure 2016 reissue. I had no idea this is what this album was supposed to sound like. I've never heard an early UK to compare it to, but I can't imagine it sounding any better. This is on par with the best sounding albums in my collection, if not the best. Dead silent backgrounds, which is something the UKs apparently don't have.
Mine came with all the posters and booklet but is missing the OBI. If anyone has one, I'd buy it to complete mine.

The best Psy/Prog-Rock album of all time pressed in surprisingly good quality in Brazil. The best cost-benefit for money of this album is in this release, IMHO.

Simply staggering the amount of merch you get in this package, it's superb quality. So so much better than the vinyl box set in terms of content and value. Great double dip.

I have this and first German pressing in vg to vg+ media condition
If i had to get rid of one of them, it would be german one.
I saw some people complaining they got noisy vinyl. Mine plays completely silent
Wider sound stage then German 1st, on the other hand you won't really get that analog warmth
All in all its well worth the money, great pressing

Stay away from these SA pressings if you want to hear this album in its full glory. Quality control was poor. They’re a hit and miss bag.

As an owner of multiple copies of DSOTM, including the MOFI half-speed mastered, a copy from a small intermediate run between the 1st and 2nd UK pressings, a very early US pressing and a beautiful sounding German pressing (trust me: German pressings are fantastic, very underated), this Australian pressing is i think the best-sounding in my collection. To my ears, and on my system, anyway

Just got my copy today from Amazon Aust, Nice clean sound, no distortion love it, on the plus side 180g vinyl , and Bernie Groundman part of the team, I use a 1970's Luxman PD-288 turntable, speakers Wharfedale 400. I also have a 1973 Japan copy which is also exhalent. If you like Pink Floyd, David Gilmour Live at Pompeii on vinyl a MUST buy, 10 out of 10.

Taking the time out of a busy day to drop a few words here - I pretty much hate all newly pressed vinyl, especially if they're digitally sourced. Also, 80% of the new vinyl I've purchased has been returned because it was so badly warped and/or dished. Often, the replacements were just as bad or worse, and I just gave up and continued to search for an original pressing.

Well, this here, is truly a diamond in hidden in the mound of new vinyl trash these days. Not only is it actually a flat piece of vinyl, the remastering by Bernie Grundman is second to none. Every positive thing you read about this 2016 remaster is true. If you read something negative, it's because the person reviewing it either has hearing loss or is playing it on a junk system. I'm playing this on a 15k rig with a 4k turntable and a DynaVector 1.2k cartridge - I can assure you, this is the best damn version of DSOTM I've ever heard. I'm hearing things never heard before, or as clear, from either a digital or analog source.

I don't know if this was an all-analog production stream or not, but frankly, as amazing as this sounds, I don’t care. And by the way, it sounds very analog, regardless of whether the production chain was 100% analog or not. I’ve been trying to find a first pressing of this, but finding one in vg+ or nm is getting hard to do, especially at a price that is not above the Goldmine price value. Frankly, now that I have this reissue, I could live happily if I never find a first pressing.

With me saying that last sentence and the fact that I generally hate new vinyl, should say something about what an outstanding remaster/pressing this is. If you buy this and don’t think it’s the best, or as good to the best, you’ve ever heard, then I would say you need to upgrade your analog rig. Truly, an outstanding product on many levels – I have to say, this (along side Classic Records, Columbia “Kind of Blue”) is the best reissue vinyl in my collection.
