Wilco – Yankee Hotel Foxtrot

Just did a shootout with the '22 boxset.

The box is nice but - no, not at all that close despite the pedigree - the OG is superior. Wider soundstage, more life, more beauty. Definitive.

Can’t add anything new, this is a phenomenally well EQ’d record that sounds better the higher the volume. One of the best sounding in my collection.

It’s a clean pressing. I don’t know what other pressings sound like, but to me the soundstage isn’t particularly crisp. And to my ears, this seems a little more pronounced on record 2, especially side 2 (which are quieter songs to begin with). Any one else find this?
If I could I’d give it a 3.75 stars. feel there must be better pressings out there, but it’s still a good listen :)

This pressing is beautiful, and I've owned multiple copies throughout my life including the original Sundazed and the 2012 US pressing. This pressing tonally doesn't sound leaps and bounds over the older pressings, but it matches their great sound. Hard to ask for anything more, this record already sounds great. The reason I like this pressing so much is that the background static, or rather lack thereof, is dead silent. Beautifully flat and great sounding.

I can't praise this box set enough. The unified theory of everything completely reimagines each song. It's an incredible way to experience these amazing tracks in a new light, showcasing the band at their peak. The live show sounds phenomenal. The packaging is user-friendly, with excellent reading materials and attractive album artwork. Overall, I couldn’t be happier and would gladly pay more than I did for this.

This is probably the best sounding most immaculate LP in my (small) collection. Masterfully mastered. Pressing is AAA

No wonder this is so good! Mastered by Robert Ludwig and chris bellman! Can’t believe I just walked into a store and bought it - thank god I did!

The liner note page inside the vinyl says the album is mastered by bob Ludwig and chris bellman at Bernie grundman studios. However, the discog description doesn’t have the same details. Can someone please confirm

I’m actually stunned by how good this sounds (and I have the OG Sundazed release). As far as packaging.. everything is pristine. Not a single bump, scratch, warp or other flaw of any kind. I’m actually considering selling my OG now.
