I found Headspin to be overbearing and dis-jointed and had to turn it off after 3 minutes. Same goes for track 2. Thist does not take away anything from the artist's previous works which were often inspired and highly original.referencing Headspin / Universe 13 (12", 33 ⅓ RPM) BFLT50
Head Spin picks up where IFO left off, delicate melodies, complex leads and as much acid as you need. Universe 13 is a great track and would be a champion on anyone else's record but Head Spin is just another level up. Shame Meter never got a vinyl release.- Edited 18 years ago

Every time I played Headspin at a party it always blows up, beckoning wallflowers to come onto the dancefloor. These here are two tracks from their second album, which is not as deep as their first album, but let's be serious- this is no longer 1997. The music has changed, and the Pleiadians have moved on with the times, which is a good thing, considering they didn't sell out and start making progressive psytrance like many others tended to do. At any rate, I think they sound like refined Pleiadians, and if you were to listen to a Pleiadians retrospective, if you have the time and the tracks, you'd definetely hear a progression in their music. Indeed, these tracks probably aren't the best of the tracks on the second LP, but at least Dragonfly pressed two! Still sounds like good Pleiadians but no artist should repeat their own history else they risk redundancy, stagnancy and stale-ness. - Edited 19 years ago

Headspin sounds somehow monotone and dry, the intro is pretty simple and not too twisted, overall feeling about Headspin is that this track lacks something, there isnt that full and balanced sound as in IFO, mind asks for more, but this track cant give you much. Universe 13 - this track is not a classic at all, it sounds pretty mainstream, remember Love Parade and tracks by Westbam and Motte? Well this is what you get here - fusion of some psy elements together with pretty simple style of commercial techno of that time. Allthough it sounds pretty good and even funky, this is not what you would expect from Pleiadians.
Overall not bad release by Pleiadians, but nothing groundbraking either, pretty good for dancing - can have lot of fun (Universe 13) but thats all, too boring to be labeled as "Music for mind and body". - Edited 20 years ago

Few acts were such master of pure goa goodness as Pleiadians. This 12" offers the first two tracks from the classic Family of Light album and if you have been in goa/psy-trance for awhile you are probably aware that these tracks are pretty yummy. Headspin is a deeply layered warped goa workout that is sure to please. Universe 13 is more of the same... which is a good thing.... a very good thing. Starting with some small almost breaky elements, the track gets going into high goa gear. Universe 13 is a little less over the top and a bit more of an epic type track, but it is still top quality all the way.
