referencing Balance (CD, Album, Enhanced) MP109
Indeed, a nice collaboration between the two artists. Also a great mix of styles. Dubby and glitch in a beat oriented "Balance". How sick is "Dug In"?!. This was made at the peak years of glitch styles ambient. There is a comfortability with these rhythms where the artists focus on some much more then them. It's not just ambient over glitch. Its minimalism over glitch. What I find particularly different about this glitch album then alot of them, is that it explores the deep bass notes. Similar to what Veer did. Overall, an above average album. I do wish there was 2-3 extra tracks that maybe added some more ambient glitch to the length of it so this could be closer to 55-60 minutes range. Overall, a 74/100 score for mereferencing Balance (CD, Album, Enhanced) MP109
The collaboration of Brettschneider/Deupree is a total success in my point of view. Although it may seem a little bit static and boring (I don't know if this is the right word) at first it will unfold musically in the next few listening sessions. Its dubby minimalism has some abstract
"feeling" that make it tough to enjoy in the first place but
it's a very good record (anyway it wouldnt be out on Mille Plateaux if it wasn't!). And in my opinion it has a rather unique sound that you're not likely to encounter elsewhere so...give it a try!
