Reviews
- Absolutely love this 12", it's the Undergraduates tune that does it for me, the way they chopped the Amen, proper banging! I'm pretty sure it was played at Rupture at some point because it takes me back to a night out every time I hear this tune. The Crystl tune is top drawer too, making this release well worth owning.
- DJ Crysl - Kold Drumz. In a word, heavyweight.
I'm not really interested in "lost" tracks. They're usually a "VIP" or "exclusive" mix of a better original. Or a record the artist didn't think was good enough to release at the time.
Besides, where's the nostalgia and connection with a record you didn't hear all those years ago? There have been many such releases in recent years.
For me, Kold Drumz is the exception. I'd place this up there with DJ Crystl's best releases. Up there with Warp Drive, Meditation, Deep Space and Sweet Dreamz.
I don't care if I didn't hear this back in '94. I'd drop it in a classic set regardless. The production feels tight. Ahead of the game.
As I say, heavyweight - Edited 8 years agoFor me it's all about the Undergraduates bass face - so many great old tunes coming out atm - just amazing how fresh these 94 unreleased tunes still sound
