I have this track also but mine is 9mins 30 in length? Just seems like the beat to the main intro is cut shorter but the matrix runout Matrix / Runout: FI 1 A is exactly the same and its a one sided vinyl also. I seem to remember the digital downloads on soulseek back in 2007 were listed as The Beloved & Nathan Fake - Sweet Harmony (Kosmas Epsilon & Zorz Northern People Mix) - this is the longer version. My vinyl from 2004 is the shorter one...which is the correct one and what version do people have?

This just oozes class. Find me a better bootleg. Properly chuffed to finally have tracked down a mint copy.

Being a very big Beloved fan up until this time, "Sweet Harmony" wasn't really for me, and I lost track of the band after that. (With the odd exception such as, "3 Steps to Heaven" & "1000 Years From Today".)

The "Sweetheart Club Mix" of Sweet Harmony is one I can listen to though, and enjoy alright.

I wanted to know who mixed it. I can't find the info. On one release, other mixes of the song are listed as by "Adam & Eve" (thought to be the band itself in the version since the early 90s after Steve left). As this mix isn't shown to be by Adam & Eve on the release which lists Adam & Eve mixes, I assumed this was not by the band.

The flavour is very early 90s garage house dub, probably actually more New Jersey than New York.

I was wondering if it may have been mixed by Tony Humphries.

one of the best one hit wonders of all time. Sweet and great Childhood memories of that great year 1993. Was a top 10 hit in both Germany and The UK. it reached also the bubbling under Charts in the US by reaching #114

Well this 12" is what a bootleg remix is all about...take a wicked track & (somehow) make it sound better & more dancefloor friendly - that's what these guys did & my gosh the breakdown around the 4min mark which flows off into the distance & comes back with a crackin slow rise into the vocals, synths & then finally the beats smash back in to make this one of those 'one more tune' or 'last for the set' type track - basically shows what a remix should be...ReSpeKt to Kosmas Epsilon & Zorz for their work here!

Yes this is a bootleg. I read somewhere that Kosmas and Zorz cranked this out as a little side project for themselves and the intention was never to release it. The mastering on this record is more in line with a record produced in the late 90's, much easier on the ears than your typical release today. A tad bit bass heavy. I think it adds to the overall charm of the release. There's a couple of tiny pops and cracks during the breaks but to me it only adds to the personality. The crackles are minor and do not distract from the atmosphere. Its part of having the vinyl. I personally see no need to remove them. Let the record be as it is and be thankful someone bootlegged it, because if they didn't this track would have never seen the light of day. The final buildup when the Sweet Harmony vocals unwind is emotional overload. The legs go numb and the face gets flush. This record is pure bomb.

Outstanding bootleg of The Beloved's Sweet Harmony. Minimal sampling of the vocals about half-way through verifies to the audience that indeed this is Sweet Harmony! It is only hinted at from the beginning by the unmistakeable synth baseline - surely used as a tease. Finally near the end is the reprise with a considerable amount of The Beloved's vocal support.

Too bad this was a bootleg - the vinyl has a lot of surface noise in the breaks - which are heavily synthesized at lower audio levels - just where you don't want surface noise to be. I spent hours cleaning up the surface noise without compromising the high end while putting it on CDR - with only minimal success. Northern People should seek a quality vinyl label or issue it on CD. In this case I'd certainly pick up another copy without reservation!

This brings back a few memories...."Let's come together, right now, oh yeah, in a Sweet Harmony". A loved up tune from the peace and love days of the UK dance scene. What ever happened to the Beloved? I'm sure Jon Marsh is still knocking our tracks under another name somewhere...
