Vinyl pressings
1st Pressing:
Plan 9: PL9/03 (May 1984)
5000 black vinyl copies with "C&P Hell-bent Music" on center labels. Sleeve is charcoal black, Misfits logo on front is violet purple, and band photographs on back are black and white or light pink. Vinyl is thick and opaque black.
500 purple vinyl copies with "C&P Hell-bent Music" on center labels. Sleeve is dark black, Misfits logo on front is pink/purple, and band photographs on back are black and light pink.
2nd Pressing:
Plan 9: PL9/03 (unlabeled Caroline pressing) (May 1986)
500 white vinyl copies with "C&P Hell-bent Music" on center labels. Sleeve is dark black, Misfits logo on front is pink/purple, and band photographs on back are black and light pink. Unlike the purple vinyl copies, this pressing has "S-16670" in A-side matrix and "S-16671" in B-side matrix. This pressing was part of Caroline Records' special Misfits and Samhain colored vinyl reissues in 1986.
3rd Pressing:
Plan 9: PL9/03 (unlabeled Caroline pressing) (1986)
Black vinyl copies with faint "M Z" and "G-2" etchings in matrix and "C&P Hell-bent Music" center labels. Sleeve is charcoal black, Misfits logo on front is pink/purple, and band photographs on back are black and light pink. Vinyl is thin and appears to be translucent, charcoal brown when held up to light.
4th Pressing:
Caroline: 1704-61903-1; Plan 9; PL9/03 (1991)
Black vinyl copies identical to 3rd pressing, but with bar code sticker on plastic wrap or sleeve.
5th Pressing:
Caroline: 1704-61903-1; Plan 9; PL9/03 (1994)
Includes bar code printed on record sleeve, "S-125472" in A-side matrix, "S-125473" in B-side matrix, and "C&P Evilive Music" on glossy center labels. Sleeve is dark black, Misfits logo on front is light purple, and band photographs on back are black and light purple.

first Misfits i ever heard was this on MRR radio back when it came out. i still laugh remembering Tim Y back announcing it- "that was the Misfits doing "We Bite". and i would tend to agree with that." HAHA!!!

I have a copy of this that has "c&p Evilive music" on the label, on both sides.
Edited one year agoSuper clean, loud, and punchy! My copy has a #6 etched into the end of the matrix, let me know if anyone else has that! Definitely a great collector piece to own for any Misfits fan! Three of some of their most brutal outputs in one single!
I have one identical to this, except BOTH sides play @ 45rpm.referencing Die Die My Darling (12", 45 RPM, Repress) PL9-03
My copy matches this entry exactly _except_ that the faint etching in the matrix on Side A is "S11" and on Side B is "S9"
Edited 3 years agoIf your turntable is at normal volume this will be an Obnoxiously loud harsh wall of noise but if you turn the volume down it sounds listenable. Sound quality isn’t very clear but I do like the pounding bass that makes these songs feel more lively, especially on side B. Not sure if it’s just my copy but mine has an insane amount of surface noise like I’ve never heard before on any record but the music is so loud it drowns it out for most of the EP.

Anyone that has a "sleeve only" for this pressing, please let me know. I only have the disc.

Having trouble identifying my copy. I got this around 89-90. The front logo and pictures on back are violet/pink. Thick black vinyl with large circle around spindle. Small B. Matrix has EDP,PL-903-A TR PA-5-84, PL-903-B TR 5-84. The spine has Misfits in white,Die, Die, My Darling and PL9-03 in violet/pink. No barcode or mention of Caroline. This appears to be the best match but not quite sure.
