As colored vinyl goes, this is a pretty good pressing and is reasonably quiet.
I don't know why it's taken me so long to hear this album, but I am pretty much blown away by it. I'm not sure there's really been anything like it, before or since. If I had to describe it, I'd say it sounds like Cocteau Twins decide to do metal. That's a good thing. It's all pretty amazing, but "...a Distance there is..." is one of the most extraordinary songs I've heard in a very long time.
It's especially interesting to hear the early demos and compare them to the actual release. It's a reminder just how important a good producer can be.

The clarity is amazing! With punchy bass as well. The gatefold is as beautiful as over reviewers have stated.

It is an extraordinary edition, the cover design is outstanding! as described on the notes, "The Text is graved in "golden" embed ink, on front and back cover, as well as the lines drawn are in "golden" embed ink." the cardboard is also special and makes a great feeling. The booklet is reach of information and nice old times pictures. the Vinyl pressing is also outstanding and very good, better than the original CD from 1995 that I had (an got it away!).

Anybody can comment something about the sound quality of this release?

This debut album yet shows Theatre of Tragedy as a unique band, always breaking boundaries and destined to be a major influence for the now extremely popular wave of female-fronted metal bands.
This first collection of songs unveil slow, rough and heavy doom/death metal riffs with harsh male vocals mixed with romantic piano melodies and the angelic female voice of Liv Kristine.
By marrying opposites together, the norvegian band created not only a rich and contrasted music but also highly symbolic and evocative, reflecting the duality of life and human being (light and dark, good and evil, male and female...).
The album reaches an emotional peak with the beautiful song A Distance There Is. Stripped of all metal elements, this track is a long heartbreaking ballad showcasing only Liv's voice floating over a delicate piano and a few cello notes.
