Any idea why there is no lyrics like the US release?- Finally scored a copy of this album, it sounds awesome, way better than the pop and click fest that the Listenable Records version is.

Cause of death is definitely one of the best death metal albums ever. Along with Altars of madness (Morbid Angel), Scream bloody gore (Death) and Necroticism (Carcass), this album showed a completely different level and became, in fact, a breakthrough in death metal music. This album made Obituary a cult band. This is a classic of genre, and this one cannot be compared with any other albums, it must be heard.- Edited 2 years ago

A cult classic of Death Metal. The instrumental part is just delicious and here you can really hear it, unhurriedly, sweeping, sometimes unpretentious, but after listening to it, the feeling is still with a kind of taste of rough musical violence. The vocal is extremely maniacal and insane. According to the totality of successful musical ideas, this record is rightfully included in the pantheon of the best Death Metal releases of all time. Obituary and their early albums literally became synonymous with Florida death metal, being one of the most prominent names of their time and still remaining one of the most persistent and devoted veterans of the genre.
The reissue from Listenable is the "least of evils". Of course, it is preferable to have such an album in the original format and listen to the original sound. But not all vinyls of 30+ years ago have survived to this day, as well as not all of their owners =) And piece copies in good condition cost more than reissues of all Obituary albums on new-made vinyl. In general, this edition sounds good, mastering does not spoil this record, which eventually gives a very rich and natural sound. Traditionally, I personally have some objections regarding the presence of bonus tracks on vinyl presses, but they also demonstrate a good sound here (although they still remain quite raw). The artwork does not have a sufficient level of sharpness, it looks blurry both on the main sleeve and on the inner insert. In principle, this problem is relevant for almost every first reissue of albums from the early 90s - not only for Obituary reissues, and not only from the Listenable label....
If we talk about the quality of the vinyl, then there is a place for criticism. The purchase of this vinyl occurred at about the same time when a cartridge change was planned on my setup. When listening to with an old cartridge with a conical stylus, there was a lot of noise. When listening to with a new cartridge with a microline stylus, the noises has become almost insignicant (I can't say there aren't any at all, but they are heard only between tracks and from the quietest places of recording). Of course, no one wants to bother with a new vinyl, to special wash one and treated with antistatic, but in some cases it can help. referencing Cause Of Death (LP, Album, Limited Edition, Reissue, Repress, Stereo, Red / Black Marbled) POSH443
A lot of surface noise, which is too bad because the music sounds pretty good. Contacted Listenable but never got a reply. Buyer bewarereferencing Cause Of Death (CD, Album, Repress) RO 9370-2
this RP version of cause of death is not official relase but i think a copy press...- I've had two copies of this and both have terrible crackle right at the start of both sides that catches at the same point as the record turns. Sorry for not knowing the technical name for this.
Must be a bad pressing overall. Sounds great otherwise, ironically.
