I feel like more people tend to talk about "Wipeout" when it comes to this release, but I'm actually fonder of "The Bird." Indeed, I like "Wipeout," but it comes across as slightly more of a novelty (gimmicky, perhaps) than "The Bird." I can't really articulate why my brain interprets the tracks that way, and fair to say, "The Bird" has a repetitive vocal (built off the singing in the Trashmen original) that could also be heard as gimmicky. But overall, "The Bird" just sounds a bit more serious in tone to my brain, whereas "Wipeout" is like a tune you would play to get an acid-laugh (like the more recent "Girls Girls Girls" acid cover on 909 Editions). Perhaps others feel differently, but that's my take.
