Within Temptation – The Heart Of Everything

The jacket is great - sturdy matte gatefold with hi-res printing. 4-page booklet also brings an added value. The pressing quality is good, but the sound is quite compressed. I own the first 4 WT albums reissues on MOV, and sound wise this one is probably the worst...

Pressing quality is top notch. Sound wise is acceptable but nothing extraordinary, heavily compressed.

It's a nice album. It's diverse and catches my attention.

By the way, the bonus material is really great. The remix of "What Have You Done" is better than the album version, and the acoustic performance of "Stand My Ground" is really lovely---also, in some ways, better than the original. It brings out its solemnity, which isn't apparent in the original.

Note that "Stand My Ground" is not the version from Within Temptation - An Acoustic Night At The Theatre. I assume the other tracks are not from that session, either. (Those songs are not on that album.)

This is just a great album, their hardest rocking release since Within Temptation - Enter. Among many other highlights, it contains the extraordinary song "Our Solemn Hour", which references a short speech of Winston Churchill's which begins, "In this *solemn hour* it is a consolation to recall and to dwell upon our repeated efforts for peace". The song does what great music can do: Capture the complex emotions Churchill was expressing in that speech, delivered two days after the start of World War II. Read it.

That theme continues through other songs. The next one, "The Heart of Everything", contains the line, "There will be a time we'll get back our freedom", which is also borrowed from Churchill. Though he was speaking of the freedoms the British people had sacrificed in the war effort, he also says that when they do get their freedoms back, "we shall be able to share them with the peoples to whom such blessings are unknown". There is Churchill's famous optimism.

But the album is just full of great songs, wonderfully arranged and performed with the kind of passion that is appropriate to them. It's full of loss and devastation, but those always seem to be balanced by hope and perseverance.

ok so now i got question .... i think all those numbers on copies are one big BS... i get this based on Alessandro review . My copy number is 1008 and is so bad... poops and click all over the both records including the background noise... i own also expensive ultrasonic cleaner.. after 2 30 minutes passes almost no improvements.. I think MUSIC ON VINYL just play some kind of game and cheat on us with all those copy numbers !!!!!

This album contains a lot of wonderful songs. Starting from Forgiven, to All I Need and What Have You Done.
I own the #1063 and the first record sounds good, while the A side of the second record is with a lot of surface noise. Disappointed about that...

Nice listening only on one record!
