- Avoided DOL releases for ages. Bought this by accident. Sounds shockingly pretty great. Deep deep bass. Pretty good sound and pretty alright quality. Pressed well and poly lined inner
- Sound is pretty good, a few bits of distortion here and there on my clean copy,
This is the first time I have heard anything outside of Legend, and I'm surprised at how good, and different this era was. - Edited 7 months ago

The sound is at once excellent and awful. So aggressive, it really pushes the limits of the format and the electronics. To be fair, the original recordings are big and they do boom, but are very well recorded... something special was happening there and then and no error. referencing Rasta Revolution (LP, Compilation) TRLS 89
In my opinion his best album Mr brown cracking tune.- Edited 3 years agoThis is one of the best Bob Marleys to grab. This is basically an analogue press of the sought after Soul Rebel album remastered with the addition of my favorite, and one of Bob Marley's best songs- the gothy 'Mr. Brown'! This is the only LP with that song on it. That comment by Sam is unfounded... CDs and digital music were not around in 1976 and it doesn't sound like that anyway. It's very warm and soft on the edges- not harsh digital stuff at all. Will not harsh your mellow mahn. It is a somewhat lo-fi recording but it is the same quality as Soul Rebel, actually better in my opinion. Soul Rebel is gutted in the middle of the sound spectrum in the mids to lower mids. Here they EQed it differently and boosted the bass end big time to try to get back some of the mid sound that must just be missing from the recording sessions. It fills that in more considerably but the bass is so heavy its one of the few albums that I actually turn down the bass and that makes this sound quite a bit better than you will get from Soul Rebel. Nice early Bob Marly, Peter and all in the raw with cool organ sounds and minimal instruments. Love this raw organic stuff before all the big, but great production came in. Lower the bass (or not) and crank it!
