The A-Side “We’re Getting The Band Back Together” - when you get Guy McAffer, Chris Liberator and D.A.V.E. The Drummer together then you get Techno’s answer to the Blues Brothers creating a big room stomper with the adage of a comedic sample in the breakdown of a phone ringing somebody answering “hello…..? What did you say? - Hey man I'm thinking of getting the band back together!” There are some ghost train sound effects and possibly the shrieking/howling of the odd asylum patient thrown in there too just to add a bit of an eerie sketchy warehouse vibe to what is otherwise quite a fun techno track.

The B-Side “Runs Like Hell” samples Pink Floyd’s ‘Runs Like Hell’ and has an incredibly uplifting feel to it thanks to the single note bass essentially continuing throughout the entire track to create a sense of continual anticipation and excitement. When the drop comes, it drops hard and the bass is deep and rich. It’s a rolling techno monster anthem track sampling prog rock phazey guitars and marrying them with distorted 303 acid - what’s not to love!

An odd release from the acid-techno supergroup. Sure, I know all their releases tend toward the silly and typically sample rock classics. Still, "Runs Like Hell" sounds like an '80s synth-pop track cycled through a restrained acid-techno filter. It's not bad, and the acid lines are nice and gritty, but this is certainly not a usual SUF dance-floor burner.

"We're Getting the Band Back Together" is somewhat less of a novelty, and sounds like a lot of Geezer's plodding-acid catalog (see also, "When Push Comes to Shove," "Jak the Biscuit," or "Throw Bricks at Coppers"). And again, this is totally decent, but it just doesn't stand out like the Stella Artois EP, "Comfortably Dumb," or "Three Day Illegal Rave Party from Hell."

Ultimately, I give this record 3/5---not bad, but not an SUF classic, either.
