Yeah, incredibly it could be the best record from AATT.. They are 'famous' to be one of the most underrated british band ever, with wonderful early albums completely ignored in their own country for some misterious reasons..
But 'The Klaxon' is a strange work, so far from the melanconic newavish that put the group in its state of yper-cult band outside England. Without having loss some peculiar characters of their greatness, here a touch of folk, tex-mex attitude in a cinematic way..
This album could stand in the soundtrack of a Tarantino's movie, anticipating some important musical trends that will be developed a lot starting from the second part of the 90's. referencing The Klaxon (CD, Album) NORMAL 164 CD
To me, this is the best And Also The Trees-album. Everything is just perfect. The Mandolin is back where it belongs, the lyrics are perfect, the production is amazing and I think, I have to stop now. But seriously now: If you like dramatic 80's-style, unusual music: give it a shot! Definitely among the 1993 top-ten-albums! It is so incredibly astonishing and also very sad, that And Also The Trees have never caught the attention of a broader audience! Having said that, exactly this very underappreciation might be the key to their everlasting glory!
