David Bowie – Legacy

Sounds great! I have majority of Bowie albums (90's on CD) and this audio sounds tremendous throughout the range. Tracks like "Under Pressure" have me pinned to the wall opposite. Ortofon Blue Cartridge/Rega deck/Leak amp/Sonus Faber speakers.

I’m wondering if there was different runs of this pressing as mine which I purchased at time of original release with the limited prints sounds really good to my ears. No surface noise or pops or clicks to speak off and not muddy sounding at all. I am usually disappointed with modern pressings of vinyl but not this one

I'm super torn on this. On one hand, these are a fantastic collection of songs, and a good introduction to Bowie for new fans. And for the price, this 2LP set is definitely good value for money (at least when i bought it).

However, it is def true that the sound quality is....not quite up to par. Even when comparing it to recent Bowie vinyl releases. I own the Space Oddity 2016 reissue (The self titled David Bowie album), and Space Oddity sounds much richer and warmer.

I would describe the sound quality on "Legacy" to be...flat. It is VERY clean though, with no surface noise at all on my copy. But it is a bit lacking in warmth, lending it to a thin sounding experience.

That being said, the packaging is nice, and i cant fault it for the value. Just know that you WONT get Bowie's songs in great quality if you buy this collection.

Must of got lucky. Both the pressing and the mastering sound great.

This is like having David Bowie Mac & Cheese. Quiet vinyl, but the sound quality varies from song to song. In general the dynamic range is lacking and some of the nuances of the vocals are lost. It's like listening to the radio sometime. The most redeemable quality of this compilation it's that it's super fun to play. Just a nice cheap 2 LP compilation. Can't go wrong :). Just make sure you also buy the better stuff to really hear Bowie's wonderfully emotional vocals.

Sound quality is poor and uninvolving as a result. Flat sounding, compressed and thin. Cleaning with RCM did not help. I do not recommend this release.

Clear nice pressing and sound quality. I even bought the 2017 remaster of “Low” to compare if “Sound and vision” would sound different in any way. And I cannot hear the difference… tried like a hundred times. Sometimes I feel like vocals are slightly “fresher” on the 2017 “Low” remaster, but most of the times I believe it is my own bias. So I really don’t understand comments under the Limited edition of this release, saying it is such a terrible pressing. I would recommend to anyone who wants a set of really important Bowie songs without buying all albums.

I really enjoyed this pressing. It’s a very open mix with great balance. It has a nice bottom end and mid range.

It sound really good! Vinyl is perfect quiet, since i won’t buy all the Bowie discography, this compil is a pretty good deal!

Disappointing, a cold, sterile pressing. I did, like others mentioned, have some static and noise through some sections. It was the only indication I was listening to vinyl and not a cd. Zero warmth, Bowie's legacy deserves better representation than this
