Fallen is the debut studio album by American rock band Evanescence. After releasing several EPs and a demo CD, the group signed to Wind-Up in January 2001. Writing songs for Fallen started near the time of the band's formation; several of the songs that would feature on the album appeared on the band's earlier releases. Fallen was recorded between August and December 2002 in several locations, including Conway Recording Studios in Hollywood, California. This was followed by a two-week period of mixing at Conway Recording Studios in North Hollywood.

Fallen was released on March 4, 2003 in the US, on Wind-up and Epic Records. Fallen is Evanescence's most commercially successful album to date, selling more than eight million copies in the United States and over 17 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling albums of the 21st century. It debuted at number seven on the Billboard 200 after selling more than 141,000 copies during its first week, and peaked at number three in June 2003. Fallen topped the charts in more than ten countries. The album was certified seven times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America and was certified abroad.

Fallen received mixed to positive reviews from music critics. Fallen yielded four singles: "Bring Me to Life", "My Immortal", "Going Under", and "Everybody's Fool". "Bring Me to Life" and "My Immortal" charted in over ten countries, including Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The album earned Evanescence five nominations at the 46th Grammy Awards: Album of the Year, Best Rock Album, Best Rock Song, Best Hard Rock Performance, and Best New Artist. The band won in the latter two categories.

I agree 100% with the positive reviews of this pressing. The sound is so silently crisp and clear…incredibly dynamic and clean! The rainbow reflective gatefold jacket artwork is stunning. This pink/black vinyl version is beautiful and the hardest one to find from my experience. Grabbed it as soon as I was able to discover one in the wild! Highly recommended!

Sigh... Remaster my ass. Its basically louder and more brickwalled/limited. In my world this doesnt equal to better especially when all kind of dynamics are lost and its just a loud wall of sound. Modern digital music mastering is a nightmare. The original 2003 master was totally fine.

Prior to purchasing this pressing I had only ever owned this album in terrible compressed MP3 format on an old MP3 player somewhere. While it most certainly sounds better than that, it's a bit on the quiet side and overall relatively flat. Far from bad, but those things were noticable. That being said the disc itself is a gorgeous color and worth checking out for that alone, especially at its current price average (around $20).

Doesn't have the band version of "My Immortal", and the only two songs that are mixed on the CD end up being splitted by the end of side A, and they didn't even went back to the masters they just fade the song (Tourniquet) and faded-in the following song (Imaginary) on side B. This is a bad buy, get the CD instead, this is the version it was released originally.

Top tier pressing of this album! Sound is excellent and the discs and jacket both look great. I might take some flack for this, but personally, I don't feel like the second disc adds much. Its neat to hear alternate versions of some of the songs, but I think I would have preferred a one disc release that kept everything else the same. It doesn't detract though, still a 5/5 release.

Why is the audio so watery somtimes, in Whisper there are parts where she sounds like shes under water, and the amount of pops is crazy even after cleaning.
Absolutely not worth the price, I have 2 copies and both have the same issue so its a pressing issue

Decent but far from incredible mastering, with a rather timid low end.
Surface noise is quite noticeable. Fortunately, most of the tracks has strong dynamics, hiding plus or less the thing, but by the time you get to the quieter tracks like Hello, the flaws are obvious.

Finally, the inner sleeves are of really poor quality, made of glossy paper but not antistatic. The vinyls arrived stuck in the sleeves and, due to friction, damage them or even make a hole where they come into contact with them. Although the records are new, they come out of the sleeve dirty and with micro-scratches.

Fortunately, the music remains solid and that's why I bought these discs, greatly suspecting what kind of product I was going to receive.
