This compilation was my first real foray into real underground (largely Chicago influenced) acid/house/techno music and it will always have a special place in my heart. I had been intrigued by some "teaser" compilations a good friend of mine had brought back from Madrid that largely consisted of New Beat, so plunking down the $15 for this import LP at Wax Trax! Records in Denver was no small matter for a 17 year old. After the first minute or so of Stakker "Humanoid" on the first side, I knew that my life had changed forever and I have never looked back. In hindsight, I probably would have been hard pressed to find a better compilation, between the likes of Swan Lake "In The Name of Love", Phuture "We Are Phuture" and Bam Bam "Give It To Me", but the whole compilation (even the more commercial sounding Kraze track) is just excellent all the way through. This transpired in April, 1991 and over 31 years later I am still going strong on my love for this music.
