Rhythm Heritage – Last Night On Earth

I went into this with low expectations, expecting some cheesy disco covers. However this is a notch above that. Side A ranges from the unnecessary to the interesting, but with some killer disco guitar work and all around solid playing. Side B is actually not covers at all but new work, three extended disco funk groove tracks, solid stuff with a lovely mellow vibe. I'm not actually sure how stuff like this can stay under the radar for nearly 50 years and stay bargain bin price.

Solid disco album from a solid band of the late 70's who sold many records due to thier S.W.A.T. theme and Baretta theme (sung by Sammy Davis Jr.) - both from their previous year's debut LP. I dig the funky disco version of Rocky Theme on here (secret weapon) - always gets a great reaction when I drop it on unsuspecting ears. Bang for the buck as their records aren't in high demand and they all include a couple worthy tunes.
