Alongside the original mix of E-Face, Stomp on this reissue sounds like an early version of it - sounds a bit more rawer than the original release. Still a nice EP though.referencing The Psycho E.P. (12", 33 ⅓ RPM, EP, Limited Edition, Reissue, Remastered, Clear) FORM12001
alright lets get something straight here, this record looks BEAUTIFUL!!! clear and delicious. but I have a few problems that i should've known about before buying. the E face here is a completely different version than depicted. some melodies under the main skuffed piano bits are removed and the hoover in the breakdown is just nowhere to be seen! one of my favorite parts of the tracks just gone!! besides that it looks and sounds great so if you can live without that then its a good purchase. not too sure about the other tracks since i mostly bought this for the wicked e face tune. peacereferencing The Psycho E.P. I remember Colin Dale (or I could be mistaken, it might've been Colin Faver?) pretty certain it was Colin Dale though. Anyway, usually the ultimate professional how he came across on air. He played E-Face on one of his Abstract Dance shows in '91. After the tune had finished he named the title with a cheeky, knowing chuckle and 'yesss' or 'yeahhh' as if to say, ''you know the f***ing score'', ''we know that look or we've all been there''. You just could tell he had a big grin on his face whilst saying it. I feel a wry smile every time I remember it. Damn, that recording must be available somewhere.
The dark drop with the Mentasm sample (and the creepy sounding reverse screech on the Remix) sums it all up. Always waited for that breakdown to really let loose. Production and sound quality wise - all pressings are rough as they come. Not that much of an improvement comparing the subsequent represses to the supposed faulty original issues. But it didn't really matter when they were being blasted out at 30K whilst you were pumped up to the gills because the place was utter carnage.referencing The Psycho E.P. (12", 33 ⅓ RPM, EP) DJ SS 1
The release notes state that the bleeps sampled on track AA3 are from Unique 3 & The Mad Musician - The Theme. I'm finding it difficult figuring out where this sample is exactly. I might be missing something, but the only bleeps I recognise are from Nightmares On Wax - Dextrous, or am I hearing things? I might be overlooking something, it's not the first time and it certainly won't be the last :-)- Nobody? The E-Face.... ardcore, ardcore, ardcore , (distorted) your puttin' a rush on me. Would lose it to this tune when I was a young and not spending my life in an armchair writing about the things I use to lose it too....
