Nu-NRG* – Dreamland

Really surprised this hasn’t got any reviews yet. Incredible release that put Nu NRG on the map imo. They had some big releases before, but landing this on Vandit really solidified them as a household name. I’m also really surprised this doesn’t go for more money. Unless it’s because Vandit put out a lot of copies. The track itself is full on driving and when that 7 note piano riff drops crowds just erupt - I’ve witnessed it on many dance floors. Superb stuff from the boys - they had a time and place in trance and it was epic!

Breakthrough material for Nu NRG, even though they had releases before. This really put them on the map. Properly unique sound in this that went on to secure them many more releases on Vandit. Music has often been likened to a spirital experience. Almost euphoric. And like most things euphoric, they are inherently difficult to describe in words. You play the song and the only communication that's taking place is the religious two-way exchange between the music and the soul. However, thanks to the monstrous production on this particular chunk of Euro-gated gold from Italy, one word easily springs to mind and it's "big".

Big sounds generate big feelings.

There's so much going on here. Pumping synths that escalate until they reach their inspiration Himself, growling bass lines that leave footprints on hell's rooftop, and a breakdown so immaculately conceived that The Chosen One's marketing department are considering adopting it as the official theme to His Second Coming. Forget the purists' definition of Trance, this track is enough to destroy every border and boundary that exists. You are One with the Universe... or at least the chemicals make you think.
