After several revisits I have to admit "Cut My Throat" is my least favorite Atrax Morgue release. The synth work is fun and flows well but lacks any sort of psychotic or maniacal edge that would give those sounds the energy of an Atrax Morgue work. I'm not sure what the motive was behind this work but it definitely falls flat, which I can't necessarily say of other sloppier Atrax Morgue releases. Sold my copy but wish I had kept it if only for the "Homicidal Texture" tracks on the CD.- Edited 9 years ago

A release way ahead of its time. A clear forerunner, though generally unacknowledged as such, to the recent upsurge in highly abstract computer composition, the deconstructed dance music of the likes of Russell Hasswell, Evol, Florian Hecker, Lorenzo Senni et al. However, where the latter musicians relay mainly on the computer, Atrax Morgue uses minimal analogue gear. This, in my opinion, adds an extra sonic layer of texture to the music which is missing from more modern compositions. Indeed, this clearly highlights the composers great ability to create immensely visceral music with such a minimal setup. So, this is not your average power electronics/industrial record, though "I Cut Yours" gradually morphs into a gritty and powerful rhythmic noise assault, but a highly accomplished piece of modern electronic composition, ready to be rediscovered by a new generation of inquisitive electronic music fans.
