Number 6794, curious how many were pressed...
Glad to hear more songs from the last period of Bowie.

Lots of audible static and noises, at first I thought it was my cartridge!

Funny about mixing the numbering sequence for this No Plans vinyl EP. Some fans here are stating their numbers, to figure out how many were produced, but also as a 'perceived value' regarding low numbers. It's like a last-minute Bowie joke on 'collectibility'. . .

Traditionally, the reason why having a low number is GOOD, is because the lower numbers being the first produced, it's generally thought the lower numbered products are more accurately produced. [This is not always the case, because the very first can have problems as machines warm up / get into the rhythm. Often the first few are thrown away as tests, but sometimes some duff ones can sneak by. Also, modern machinery is a lot more consistent.] But, as a general rule, lower numbers are better and the idea of lower numbers being more valuable has stuck.

Mixing up the numbers totally subverts the reasoning behind low numbers having more value - if the numbers are MIXED UP, they clearly don't reflect the order of production - in this case the low number doesn't hold any extra value. The important aspect remaining about the numbering is ensuring each is part of a limited run.

I bought a copy of this used a year ago and it was a little warped and a little off center and was riddled with clicks and pops. I got rid of it. I recently purchased a new copy and it plays perfect. Not only does it have a dead silent background but the sound is amazing. High fidelity, easily one of the best recordings I've heard. Super punchy drums, deep bass and nice thick guitar sound with a very expansive soundstage. The sax sounds warm and dynamic and the synth adds nice detail to make the record very full sounding. But most importantly is Bowies voice is given nice presence. Very engaging listen, sounds awesome. I would highly reccomend this one. (Comes in plain white paper inner)

My copy isn't noisy. I didn't notice much surface noise at all, and definitely no clicks/pops. Sounds pretty good to me.

Was it the clear vinyl one which is actually more blue that had the lithograph?

Plagued by distracting hisses and pops throughout. I also own the 3 LP Lazarus Original Cast Recording which has the same music as this for LP3 and it sounds significantly better. I recommend spending a little more to pick that up vs. buying this separately. The cover at is nice, but the sleeve is pretty flimsy and there's nothing inside. A definite cash grab release.

Beautiful looking RSD EP by the legend that is Bowie. Love the starred etching. Good bass and clear too.

My copy has some slight surface noise. Nothing too horrible but probably on par with the noise floor of the Blackstar pressings. Essentially occasional tics and a barely audible hiss during quiet portions of the songs. The overall mastering is slightly more compressed than the Blackstar mastering with less noticeable separation and distance between the instruments along with a softened bass tone. There was no warping and the etching marks were perfectly intact. Overall I am pleased with this copy.
