The piano sounds VERY similar to that in Stand By Me by Julian "Jumpin" Perez feat. Valentino (DJ International), also from 1988. I wonder who copied who? I'd hazard a guess...referencing The Party (12", 45 RPM, Stereo) MCAT 1288
Bit of a marmite track popular at the time but sounds very dated...the piano is sampled from https://www.discogs.com/master/177634-Julian-Jumpin-Perez-Featuring-Valentino-Stand-By-Me which still sounds great.referencing The Party (CD, Maxi-Single) ZYX 8-5903
This cd version sounds to be a rip of the vinylreferencing The Party (12", 33 ⅓ RPM, Stereo) BB-0002
Pink was to perfect this approach to lyrics with her god awful Get The Party Started in which she arrogantly states that "everyone is waiting for me to arrive". Which is such a self aggrandizing and fundamentally irritating sentiment that I have been able to listen to any of her other works. Although I doubt I have lost out there. The mad but entirely useful thing about Kraze is the accapella (which is the only reason I saved it from the trauma of a extremely unkempt charity shop) which I am pretty sure must of been hammered by Sy back in the old sport centre rave years I loved so much......- Edited 9 years ago

Basically a series of idiotic utterances from a rowdy, annoying yobbo who jumps the queue to get into a party and then spends the rest of the song shouting his lungs out over a stupidly simplistic piano loop. Bona fide classic. referencing The Party (12", 33 ⅓ RPM, Stereo) BB-0002
Then I was a big fan of house music, the stock market plate already knew me very well because of this, and drew on the walls yellow smile :-) ,one of the best recordings of the genre of house music.- Although it only just dented the top 30 when initially released at the end of the second summer of love back in 1988, Kraze’s ‘The Party’ remains as a milestone in house music’s well documented history. Instantly familiar with echoes of vintage Todd Terry and Detroit techno, the chords and raucously shouted vocals ‘you want this party started right… somebody scream’ have been ever-present since its appearance. Fitting then that in the age of remixes this finally succumbs to the update. Subtle in the main (dated sounding in other words!) this one-sided promo copy is surely the first of several new versions, with the remix treading the Yoshitoshi-esque path - deep and hypnotic in parts, housey and pumping in others. Now somebody scream!!!!!
